[WWC BoG Election] Candidacy for the WWC BoG 2023-2025_College 5 Candidate

Warm greetings from the Asia Water Council (AWC)!

It is our greatest pleasure to announce that AWC has become one of the candidates for the upcoming 2023-2025 Board of Governor&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;apos;s election of the World Water Council (WWC) under - College 5: Professional and academic organizations.

AWC is a global water network focusing on identifying and implementing tangible solutions for water challenges in Asia. It consists of 152 members from 24 countries, and actively cooperating with water-related organizations including governments, academic and research institutions, etc. AWC also organizes the Asia International Water Week (AIWW), a triennial event to ensure the achievements, knowledge, and experiences of water experts from all around the world so that it can disseminate solutions for Asian water issues.

We believe that issues dealt with at the AIWW will be well delivered to the world through the World Water Forum, as we did at the 7th WWF in Korea in 2015. AWC and WWC have a strong relationship by sharing a goal to provide water solutions worldwide, and it reached an MoU for joint research and human resources exchange at the 8th WWF. AWC also played a key role in organizing the Water Security Session, one of the main themes of the 9th WWF as a Pilot Group.

For the successful 10th World Water Forum, AWC will put our unwavering support for the WWC and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH) of Indonesia, which is one of the key members of the AWC since AWC has a solid relationship with MPWH based on the experience of holding the 2nd AIWW in Indonesia last March.

With participating in the WWC governing board, we look forward to extending our insights from Asia to the world and exchanging the insights with WWCs distinguished members. In this context, we would appreciate your interest and support so that AWC can serve consecutive terms as a WWCs Board of Governor (2023-2025). We hope that we can be a pathway of WWC to Asia!
